Training, career and distinctions

Daniela Conejero is a Chilean composer, singer and percussionist who became interested in the arts at an early age. She learned to play the guitar and wrote her first songs while still in High School. Later, she studied composition at Universidad de Chile’s Art Department, and classical singing with Master Patricia Herrera. Conejero studied Traditional Percussions at the Conservatorio d’ Aubervilliers Courneuve in France and world music in North Africa.
Since the start of her career, Conejero participated in choirs and roots music and dance groups such as Santa Mentira, Sindicato Sonoro, La PedroBand and Aluna, among others. Between 2003 until present, she has been part of different configurations of the same bands. As a soloist, Conejero has produced several albums and has won important national and international composition awards.
As an interpreter, she is constantly invited to record in other bands and solo projects including Margarita Negra y Camino de Vuelta (Federico Wolf ), Verde Violeta (Aline Gonçalves y Simón Schriever), Leuda (Santiago del Nuevo Extremo), Grita y Ríe (Romina Guardino/México), La Cosecha (Nano Stern), Made in Bordeuax (Guaka/Francia), Anagramas (QyM Ensamble), Amor Bonito (Natalia Barahona) among others. As a singer of a diverse repertoire of popular music, Conejero has performed at important theaters and concert halls, and has shared the stage with renown artists in Chile and internationally.
Currently living in Frutillar, Chile, a UNESCO Creative City, and through her Itinerant Music School Sabiduría Nómade (Nomad Wisdom), she works as a vocal coach, voice, composition and percussion teacher, and she is a mentor at the iconic Semanas Musicales program Música a la Cuerda, and the Rural Schools Latin American Music program. At the same time, Conejero performs regularly with her trio, creates and produces music.
Her most recent album Nómade, in part funded by the Chilean endowment for the arts FONDART 2023, was recently and successfully released as a CD, and throughout the second semester all songs will be released by streaming.
